After a mysterious trail appeared in my garden, leading from a hole in the ground to the bird feeder, I found myself eager to get a trail cam to find out whatever beastie was making it.

I had a search on Amazon and was overwhelmed by the choices available. In the end, I did what any good Yorkshireman would do – I picked the cheapest that didn’t look completely naff. Also factoring into my decision was that the model I ended up buying only needed 4AA batteries, whereas most of the other models required 8.

The camera comes with what you’d expect: a strap for securing it to trees/branches etc, a fixture for attaching it to a wall or tripod, instruction manual, and a cable. It doesn’t come with an SD card or batteries.

I’m super impressed by the quality, and the trigger worked with mice and small birds at quite a distance, but was unaffected by the wind blowing branches and so forth.

It’s been out in the cold, wind and rain for a week now, and it’s held up great. Super happy with the camera, and I’m hoping to catch the garden weasel on it before too long! Highly recommend.

I previously used a much larger trail camera that didn’t offer video recording nor sound. This one is so small that you can hide it almost anywhere.
Comes with a very rigid adjustable mount and pivot assembly. The package is definitely waterproof and tough. It’s not cheap plastic at all. The camera was able to catch multiple visitors we had at night. Though they didn’t always trigger the motion detector in our outdoor lighting, the camera did capture these visitors in day time and night time.
The camera was easy to set up and get started. It has an indicator light which, after you start it, will flash as a warning that it will start recording.
You can choose to record videos of variable length along with the motion and picture. Audio is included! Quality of the picture and video is very good and audio is perfect for all such purposes. The price and value is realy really good.
This camera can even be used as a security camera as it has the features for it.
I tested it for 2 weeks and the batteries still going strong.
I would load more videos but only allowed one.
The menu has many other options you can use to fine tune to your preference. I like many of the menu features.
One thing I didn’t find is the time between shots. But given that it records a video, it looks like it starts to sense for motion again shortly after the video. I used it indoors to try it out and it was impressive as a security camera!
You can’t go wrong for the price and quality. It’s definitely not a GoPro but you would pay way more for a GoPro. For a train camera, you don’t need anything fancier than this.
Note that it has options for external power, USB, and audio/video outs. If you want to connect to a TV and run it for a while using an external power source then you have that ability.
I left it under the rain and no water seeped through at all. You can use the included strap to strap it to a tree, post, or other objects.
The package is as nice as high-end electronics and I’d say very impressive for the price. Thick manual booklet included with impressive English rather than broken English. Certainly seems like a professional company. I own a couple of other products of theirs and am impressed with their quality.

Perfectly serviceable trail cam. Decent quality day time pictures and not bad night shots and videos. Instruction booklet in somewhat weird English making it a little difficult to understand but I got there in the end. Does NOT come with SD card and is not controlled by a camera app on your phone – you have to connect via mini USB cable (supplied along with AV cable) or take the card out and connect via a card reader to computer – but that’s no problem for me. The on/off buttons are on the inside front which can make it tricky to operate if it’s in a difficult to get at position but you can set a timer so it comes on and goes off automatically. Takes 4xAA batteries but there is a 6V DC in if you want to wire it in. Motion activated. Supplied with strap and bolt-on fastening to attach it to whatever. Can be used on a tripod. My only problem with it is that it was sold on promotion for £33.99 (£39.99 with discount of £6) but now is priced at £29.99 NOT on promotion. So I paid £4 too much for it. I have no way of knowing if this is the seller’s or Amazon’s pricing policy but it makes me a little less happy with my purchase. This, of course, does not affect the quality of the camera.

The size of this camera is one of the best features,IMO.Easy to hide. Instructions furnished are clear and complete. So far, just used it to catch rat traffic at night in my garden and it fulfilled that purpose very well . Only takes 4 batteries .The one I had before was twice the size ,took 8 batteries, no viewing screen, and it was a guessing game to set it up properly…. The small viewing screen makes the setup really easy and allow for viewing/ deleting without hooking it up to a computer . I, definitely, would recommend it to anybody looking for an easy to use/compact and affordable trail camera
After trying it out in our back alley, I was able to see how big is our nightly visitor

Wow…I never actually knew that a wildlife cam like this would have such an amazing video clarity. The setup was fairly easy and when I set up the camera to film movement, it did just that. I caught some amazing pictures and videos while I was away from home. I didn’t get a chance try this at night time to see how the clarity was taking pictures or video in the dark but that will be my next endeavor. There are many different settings that can be adjusted to get the best experience out of this nice little wildlife cam. Overall, I know I will be using this quite a bit now and am eager to see what I eventually catch on video. I can see it would be good to monitor what is lurking around the house whether it be at day or night. I can’t see going wrong with anyone looking to purchase an inexpensive wildlife cam like this. I have previously purchased an action cam from Campark and this Wildlife cam is great quality just like my action cam.

We have a lot of wildlife activity in our new garden that triggers my light sensors all the time & I’d love to better catch what’s around so I’ve bought this as a gift for my Husband! 😂 It’s around hand sized & all clips inside a waterproof case. It’s not glaringly obvious what it is to look at it so will probably get away with watching the Husband doing the gardening too! It comes with different mounting options so you can screw the base plate in place or there’s a strap for more temporary mounting such as to trees or the bed post… It’s PIR activated & seems to have a really long standby time so the batteries are predicted to last for up to 5 months which is pretty cool 🙂 Really excited to see what mischief we can get up to with it! For my Husband’s benefit obviously! 😂

I had a little tricky time setting this up, mounted and getting a bit used to it but I’ve just reviewed my first day & night set of captured footage in front of my house and I’m pretty pleased with the result.

Actually I’m pretty impressed. It’s my first camera for home security and for the price I can only say it’s superb for what you get and what it can do and I haven’t even tried it in full resolutions yet.

I may need to buy another as it doesn’t cover each direction to my house but that’s ok. Another of these would sort it.
I’m also thinking of getting motion sensor spotlights and I think they would complement and help this camera at night to be even more effective.

So I’ve set the camera up just to operate at night hours when the deviants are out and I’m in bed, so there won’t be many trigger occasions or loads of videos to store or look through and the batteries should go longer and I should only have to check it once a week before the weekend or immediately if something has occurred.

It puts a lot of surveillance capability in the homeowners hands for little cost or bother and it works for me as I don’t normally use mobile phones so cannot get all the fancy mobile alerts etc as with the other cams and this one needs no wiring or such so I guess it’s pretty much perfect for me.

It’s quite visible on the front of my house but I have it mounted it at an upstairs window so I can get access to it and hopefully out of range of the vandals.

Yes it’s good, very good, not perfection as in the bracket and getting at it and the card/batteries etc when it’s mounted outside. It’s very fiddle to unscrew it from the tripod mount without disturbing the rest of the mount and it’s position once you get it set, but it’s fairly easy to guess where it needs to point.

It recorded me going out and returning which was odd to watch but it certainly showed me it working.

If you are considering this camera don’t bother, just get it and try it. If you are not familiar with tech etc then take a week or get help to get it working with whatever setup is best for your needs as there are many options as to how it can be set and used but the menu etc is pretty straightforward but then I would say that as I trained and worked as an electronics system test engineer so I suppose that was useful for something like this.

I can definitely see that I am always going to have something like this now. It’s such a revelation to see all the goings on that I would never normally see especially at night and to capture them so easily and even with some realistic sound although the wind is problematic. I even have an interest in nature as a hobby so I may be able to use it there but my binoculars are more my general and favorite tool then.

I bet these or similar cameras will be appearing on more and more houses and everywhere as time goes on. I noticed when I had some vandalism that the police even called at other neighboring houses to see if anyone had any footage. I know who the vandal is but I just need to get them on camera in the night or nothing can be done about them.

This is the 2nd Campark mini trail camera I have bought.
I have a very small hedgehog rescue setup and I find it invaluble to check out the heggies at night.
The camera is small enough to fit inside the cage/cabin and the wide angle is perfect for the enclosed space.
As with my other camera close focus is brilliant, the heggie is sometimes within inches of the camera.
The wall mount bracket also makes a good low level mono pod.

    Any cons?
Compared to my full size and more expensive trail camera, I can see were economy of construction has been made.
The locking clasp is plastic and the on/set/off switch is not too positive.
The clasp works fine on my other camera which is still going strong. I got used to the switch:-)
It also lacks a few features but at half the price of my full size camera I’m not complaining.
Attached is a video of an Autumn Juvenile who weighs about 330g
Bottom line is I will be buying a 3rd one soon!

I bought this camera for surveilling my home since there has been a recent increase of break-ins in my neighborhood. I wanted a reasonably priced camera that would record and photograph any movement in my backyard. The camera setup took me about 30 minutes, because I like to read all the details for the settings and modes. I think it can be done faster though.

I really like that you have the mode choices of recording video, taking photos, or the combination of both. I selected both as this allows me to get still shots as well as movement. The camera menu is easy to navigate and the selections are easy to understand. Again, I used the manual as a guide for my choices while I was doing the setup. Altogether I was able to setup and install the camera in under an hour. As for installation, the only thing I didn’t like was the buckle on the mounting belt. It feels a bit flimsy, but it gets the job done.

As with most consumer electronics these days, you will need to purchase an SD card and batteries. However, I didn’t expect that a wall charger (power adapter) would NOT be included with the USB cable. Although, I don’t find this to be a big deal since I have USB charging ports in my home, my car, and at work. The camera does not have wi-fi capabilities either, so be prepared to hook it up to your computer via USB to transfer your videos and photos.

If you want to take multiple extended videos in lengths of time like 5-10 minutes and at a high resolution, you’ll need more storage on your SD card. The example they give in the manual is, if you set the resolution to 1920×1080 and a video length of 10 seconds, you can record about 58 minutes of video. If you lower the resolution to 640×480 with a video length of 10 seconds then you can get 203 minutes of recorded video. So the larger the SD card storage capacity is the higher quality and longer videos you can get. Same goes for photos. Since I want higher quality and longer videos, but still want to be economical, I chose a 64GB SD card. There are so many choices Nd combinations in the settings that you should definitely be able to find the setup that suits you.

I have the video resolution set at 12 MP (1920×1080) and the photo resolution set the same. To begin with, I selected to snap 3 still photos and record 30 seconds of video each time the sensors picked up any motion. I’ve uploaded a video so you can see what it looks like with these settings. I didn’t catch anyone on video during the night, but I’m pretty sure my dog activated it this morning. I suppose he wanted to show off all the toys he has laying around the backyard. Side note: It was below freezing the entire time I had the cam setup. So, no issues for me with below freezing temps!

All-around, it’s a solid little camera. I may purchase a couple more to cover my entire yard instead of forking out hundreds of dollars for security cams.
