My daughter wears this watch while swimming. This is the second one she has owned and both of them quickly got moisture behind the face that would not go away. True, the price point is very good, but I wish Timex would not claim it’s water resistant when IT IS NOT. Timex earned themselves this 1-star review after their customer service rep offered to repair it for $30. The watch cost us $40. I’ve had such amazing customer service experiences in the last few months: Wayfair (WOW), Brandless, Izyla (seller right here on Amazon)—companies that have absolutely stood behind their product and valued me as a customer. Sorry, Timex. We’re done.

When tasked with buying my daughter a sports watch during a phase when everything had to be purple, this fitted the bill in terms of functionality, and price as well as colour. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the grey rubber around the outside of the watch face is a little loose and sometimes catches and flips back. It doesn’t show any signs of tearing but I wonder whether it may do in the future.

My wife loves these watches for running. The actual watch lasts well but the strap degrades and ultimately breaks after 2-3 years. This is our third one.

Replacing the strap costs c75percent of the purchase cost.

Also, some water issues which is dissapointing given claims to be 100m waterproof.

But if you’re after a good running watch, with intuitive splits etc, it’s a good watch.

UPDATE: This watch broke three times in the last year. The first break was on the face, connecting it to the bands. I glued it and it was ok. Then the little band securing the wrist band to the other side broke, I replaced it with a rubber band. This morning I woke up to find the band broken completely in half. I’ll buy this brand again, but never from this retailer. I’ve made these watches last for YEARS in the past, but this one broke fully just a few days beyond the year mark. I’m downgrading from 5 stars to 2.

This watch brand has been my go-to for many years. I began wearing Timex Ironman watches as a child and simply haven’t found a better watch! The functions are simple, but they work time and time again. Buttons are easy to press and there are 2 times that you can set. I’ve found the 2 times feature very helpful for cross country flights or daylight savings time. There are 3 alarms, a stopwatch, and an interval timer on this model as well. I’ve taken these watches to the desert, the ocean, on flights, to sports matches, left it in the car, crushed it in a pocket…and none of this has EVER negatively impacted this watch. Long story short: you cannot find a better digital watch on the market than this one!

I have had this watch, but bought this for my 9 year old daughter who needed a sturdy watch. Looked at Timex velcro band watches and the end would stick out too far when tightened on her wrist. This actually worked nicely and she loves all the features, and I love that we don’t have to question whether it is truly waterproof or be super careful with it. I have had several that get quite beat up and typically the band breaks before the watch. BTW, you can call Timex and they will replace the watch if the band is broken (since the band is not replaceable on this model on it’s own) for $10, the cost of the band (they even pay shipping).

**UPDATE for maroon color**: We also ordered this watch in berry and for some reason that band is extremely brittle. First the little piece that holds the extra watch band broke off within a month of having it, and even after I sent it in and paid for it to be replaced, it broke off again pretty quickly. I made do by using a hair elastic, but in about 6 months the band itself started to crack then eventually broke as well. Never had this happen so quickly with any of my previous colors of this watch. I love the berry watch specifically as it has different sounds for each of the alarms, but the band seems to have issues specific to this color.

I really like this watch. I use the app feature for nursing to time intervals between feedings. I just ordered my fourth watch and I give it four stars due to the fact that they ALL have lasted just shy of a year each and all break in the same place. See the picture. On one the indiglo feature burned out at ten months and on one the mini band to keep the end down broke. Lucky for me I had my old watches and could use that piece from a different watch. I’ve also had condensation inside the screen for one. I used to use this watch for lap swimming and it worked great for that. No more swimming for me unfortunately. I do love the waterproof feature. So nice for giving The kids baths not to have to worry about taking it off, or for my shower. I wear mine all the time. Night and day, so if you never take yours off- your watch won’t last for years like several reviews here I am seeing. But for the cost, a year isn’t a bad output so I am pretty satisfied.

I bought this watch to replace the exact same model that I had for about 3 years. I like it over other models because of the large lap button, which I use while swimming, and the 50 lap memory, which is enough to log my mile and mile-and-a-half swim splits.

The thing keeping my review 4 instead of 5 stars is the design of how the plastic strap holds the watch part. Where the strap surrounds the watch part, around the buttons, holding it into place, the strap is very thin and can tear easily. That is where my last one broke, when my hand hit a swim lane rope while swimming laps. Once the strap tears, there’s not much to do to salvage the watch.

I sure wish Timex sold replacement bands for this watch, but they don’t, so I had to spring for a whole new watch.

Went in arrange day, really good, it is 2nd replacement for 16y.o daughter. She so happy to have exactly the same color and type. It is saying all. Before just broken the watchstap end, after 2years use non stop. Recommend.

Nice watch and good value. I’ve had one before and it does the job – times runs, interval training and circuit reps plus three alarms. The watch came away from the strap last time and can’t be mended so moved to ‘tap technology’ model last time at double the price but that strap snapped after 2 years. Happy to go back to this one and hoping it lasts, in use daily but taking it off for swimming this time to help glue to hold – although in theory that shouldn’t be a problem as triathlon branding. Colour and styling great and attractive enough to wear all the time not just for sport.

I’ve had this watch for almost 8 months now, and I love the idea of the design with the split band and I love the actual watch itself, with the clear display and nightlight feature. I use the stopwatch and the chime, but not really the alarms.

My gripe is that the case itself is really not very sturdy. I don’t do sports. I just go about my daily business fixing computers and showering, and the case is incredibly scratched to the point where TIMEX IRONMAN isn’t even readable in certain lights. The face is starting to pull away from the band. I originally had this in a beautiful bright blue, but the resin band picked up so much nastiness and couldn’t be cleaned (even Timex customer support didn’t have any tips) and the band can’t be replaced–so I picked this black one so that the dirt wouldn’t show.

I’ve started shopping around for a replacement…just in case this one spontaneously fails like other reviewers have noted.
