I bought this receiver because I had a good pair of speakers and a small subwoofer sitting around doing absolutely nothing. I needed an amp capable of 100 watts per channel and subwoofer output. This Pyle amplifier fit my needs perfectly.

This amp has solid sound output and and can drive the speakers I’ve got connected to it perfectly.

My only complaints about this amp are that the rear speakers terminals were not receptive to banana clips, so I had to remove them and twist in the copper ends myself (old school).

My other complaint is that the Bluetooth standard is a fairly old one, and as a result is quite succeptible to interfence. I’ve stopped using it and just use the audio output with a stereo jack at the other end connected to my computer.

TL;DR very good sound for the money, and drives my 100 watt Polk Audio Tsi100’s perfectly. If Bluetooth is a must-have feature for you, I’d look into an additional adapter to use with this, or another amp entirely.

    A few gripes…

    1. The remote only operates the bluetooth/mp3/fm radio modes, to shut the entire unit off or change the component volume you have to get up and walk like the old days. This is a pain during tv commercials. There’s no mute function either.

    2. Bluetooth range with my phone is one room, chops up and drops out if I leave the room or hold my phone a certain way.

The amp pushes my 2×6 Daytons so hard I thought they might explode, happy with that. TV sounds great through the component input. Microphone was plug and play and my kid loves the echo feature. 1/4” inputs are nice for guitar practice too. Radio works ok. But if you need bluetooth avoid this because it’s WEAK, 3 stars because that’s really what I bought it for. For the $99 price I still like it for tv and radio.

I mean, first off… the price! Just for that alone I wanted this to meet our needs. I’m looking to replace a receiver in a room that’s seldom used where my previous receiver has quit working.

Second… it plays USB files and/or Bluetooth (though other reviews state the BT range is rather poor).

Third… as I said previously, it’s for a room seldom used so I don’t need super top-end stuff.

Unfortunately, while the room is seldom used I *do* want whatever I put in there to be mildly functional. Sadly, this device really isn’t. To wit:

    1) As others have stated, the remote control… egads. I’ve seen bigger postage stamps. It *does* work, but so can a 1976 Ford Pinto. Doesn’t mean I want one.

    2) The volume. This is the best part. Unless the actual knob volume is turned mostly all the way up, the remote control’s volume is pointless. If you have the master volume at, let’s say, 2… using the remote control to turn the volume up does nothing to make it louder. If you turn the master volume ALL the way up, then using the remote to turn it down works.

So what, big deal you say, right? Just turn the master volume all the way up and leave it there! But… once you turn the device off, it resets so the next time you turn it on it’s full-blast and hopefully your speakers (and ears) can handle it. haha

    3) Speaking of remotes, the power off button isn’t really “off.” It’s just stand-by, you have to physically flip the switch on the receiver to truly turn it off. Which, trust me, you’ll want to do… because when you have to turn the volume all the way up on it to make the remote’s volume functional… there’s a HUMMMMMM from your speakers that would wake the dead.

    4) As I stated earlier, I wanted this for a seldom used room and to play USB files. So I copied all 13,935 MP3 files I have onto a thumb drive. And I can state that *this* feature on the receiver works just fine.

I put the thumb drive in and after a few moments it started playing. I selected “random” and it did that, too. Only one problem. The back button also randoms what the next song is going to be. hahaha…

Let’s say you have as many songs as I do, and one in particular plays that you just LOVE and want to hear it again. Nope, not gonna happen. If you hit “back” on either the remote OR the receiver itself, it just randomly picks a new song. When this bad boy says “random” it ain’t kidding around, brother. haha

    5) All of my experiences I’m describing above happened within the span of about 15 minutes, and by that point I was already sighing and thinking that I’d probably be sending this thing back. And, unfortunately, that’s exactly what I intend to do. Between the volume wonkiness, horrible remote, hummmm in the speakers, and not even a simple “back” repeats the song when on random… I figured as seldom used as the room is, this thing would be even MORE seldom used. haha

Now… I don’t wanna end on a negative note, so one caveat: If you just want something to play music and is cheap, don’t plan on using it in a very complex manner… this thing would most likely get the job done. Say… some kind of background new-age music for your art gallery or something where you didn’t mind physically adjusting the volume once and then leaving it there all day while your snooty customers cross their arms and say the painting “speaks to them.”

For that kind of application, I’d say you’re in business with this thing. Who knows, you may end up with the one I’m about to send back. haha

This amplifier/receiver has quite a number of high end features, but some major problems bring down the rating.

Firstly, the Good Things: Sound quality is great. Also, this thing has a ton of features for the price. The slim profile means that you can stack more things in a confined space.

Now for the Bad: The volume dial is touchy — the difference between quiet and very loud is just a couple hairs. The included remote works only on the digital inputs, not the plugged in ones — for instance, if you want to change the volume from across the room, you may do so with whatever mp3s you have plugged into the micro sd or usb slots, but not on the blue ray player plugged into the back. Lastly, quality control isn’t very good: the first one of these I had to send back because the main volume control didn’t work at all. It only had two loudnesses no matter where the dial was set. Makes me wonder how long this thing is going to last.

    Well, hope that was helpful.
