It’s reeeeeally slow. I get that it’s a “first scooter” but it doesn’t even roll downhill by itself. Apart from that very sturdy and my son doesn’t seem to mind yet that it’s so slow but once he really gets a hang of it and tries to keep up with his sister I think it will be too slow. Good product but a little disappointed with lack of even a little bit of speed.

My 2 year old loves it, his first scooter, easy to use. Needs to be assembled.

Radio Flyer…should have better wheels. These do not roll so well, and are inexpensive plastic. Should have been a little easier to assemble, and should have had better wheels. The deck is nice size for beginners, could have been a bit more sturdy feeling. A good purchase, just not quite the quality expected from such a good brand.

This a duplicitous review; I give it five stars because it was easy to assemble and suits my needs. I have a three year-old that I do not want to go fast or far on a scooter. The reviews that report that the scooter is not fast or nimble are right. So if need a scooter that will be more nimble and fast this not for you. My little guy is able to scooter at the same time as his older brother and he is happy. When he gets more coordinated he will be bored and limited. BUT for now the little guy is outside participating and safe.

Really liked the look of the scooter so picked it up for our daughter while we’re home-bound and going for walks on a daily basis. I didn’t realise it doesn’t have a brake – was under impression all scooters did. Also a little surprised by the fact the base is all-plastic construction. Those are really my only two gripes with it. Pretty decent scooter.
Side note: steering mechanism here is turn to steer, as opposed to tilt/lean to steer. Not sure which is best, but wanted to point out.

Not the same quality as the radio flyer trike. This scooter is mostly molded plastic- including the base- wich bends somewhat with the weight of my 3 year old; and does not spin easily- stops when placing both feets in. She weights approx 34 lbs. Bit dissapointed with the purchase- but it was a christmas gift- so can’t return.

I got the Radio Flyer scooter as a gift for a 3 year old boy. My son is 2.5 years and has the colorful fisher price scooter with the popping sound, but I thought a 3 year old might prefer something that has more of a “big boy” look so I went with this red one.

In comparison, the fisher price scooter feels much sturdier and is a little heavier. It also has the back break, which the radio flyer does not. However, the radio flyer scooter seems easier to turn and maneuver. They are practically the same height at the handlebars and neither are adjustable. It took my husband just a few minutes to assemble the radio flyer scooter but you do need to have the tools (screwdriver, wrench) listed in the instructions or it won’t work. Both seem to be good scooters, just depends what you’re looking for!

Like others have mentioned, this is definitely has more of a “toy” feel to it rather than a proper scooter.

It’s fairly well made, assembled pretty easily with basic hand tools and it’s wide enough that there’s no worry about your child slipping off. That being said, overall it just feels like a plastic toy, and even the smallest pebbles seem to get wedged in the rear wheel. It’s fine for a 2-3 year old, but I would definitely invest in something a little more solid if you want something that will last your child a few years.

Very cheap, doesn’t turn well, difficult to push forward. Both of my kids have zero interest in it as it’s not fun to ride.
I bought this because I didn’t want to spend the extra money on the Micro. But this was garbage so I ended up buying the Micro anyway and it’s WAY better. Worth the extra money. My kids love riding the Micro and even though we have this Radio Flyer, they both fight over riding the “good” scooter.

This does have a wide base so their feet can be side by side. And it’s stable. Therefore giving it 2 stars instead of 1.

Do not get this scooter! Get the lean and glide scooter by radio flyer or the 502A (which is the same). We already had a lean and glide for my older daughter and my two year old loved using it too. I got this one thinking it would fit the two year old better. This scooter was actually taller (than the lowest setting on the lean and glide—this one isn’t even adjustable!), this one was harder for her to balance on (it’s so wide if you stand in the side it is unstable) and MUCH harder to turn. Not to mention this one requires assembly and the lean and glide does not. Get the other one!!
